De 2002 \u00e0 2011, il r\u00e9alise principalement des \u0153uvres \u00e0 partir de lignes d\u2019acier, dans la continuit\u00e9 de ses premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es autour du graphisme. En 2004, il se forme \u00e0 la fonderie lors d\u2019une ann\u00e9e de r\u00e9sidence \u00e0 Barcelone qui lui ouvrira les portes de la sculpture monumentale. Durant cette p\u00e9riode son travail \u00e9pur\u00e9 sur la ligne \u00e9voque une \u00e9criture imaginaire qui se d\u00e9ploie dans l\u2019espace, souvent inspir\u00e9e par la calligraphie et les ha\u00efkus japonais.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 2011, il rejoint la galerie Alice Pauli et commence \u00e0 explorer d\u2019autres m\u00e9dias : tout d\u2019abord la photo, autour des reflets dans la s\u00e9rie des Sym\u00e9tries. Puis le verre et le cristal, qui prennent rapidement une part pr\u00e9pond\u00e9rante dans son \u0153uvre. Le cristal le conduit \u00e0 des formes plus organiques, largement inspir\u00e9es par son lien intime avec la nature. Il parcourt le cristal sous diff\u00e9rentes expressions contemporaines, notamment en tant que mati\u00e8re recycl\u00e9e \u00e0 travers son travail sur le calcin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depuis 2016 il explore l&#8217;espace par-del\u00e0 les limites traditionnelles de la sculpture. Ses cr\u00e9ations visent \u00e0 impliquer le public pour qu&#8217;il prenne part \u00e0 l&#8217;\u0153uvre en la ressentant par son caract\u00e8re po\u00e9tique et immersif. Ses installations mixent les mat\u00e9riaux, le son, l&#8217;image, la lumi\u00e8re et l&#8217;\u00e9criture dans une recherche libre autour de l&#8217;int\u00e9riorit\u00e9 et de la place de l&#8217;homme au sein de la nature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les \u0153uvres de St\u00e9phane Guiran, inspir\u00e9es de la nature, nous interrogent sur notre propre nature au sein du vivant. Ses sculptures, souvent faites \u00e0 partir de cristaux et de min\u00e9raux, jouent sur la force contenue dans la fragilit\u00e9. Elles mettent en regard les mat\u00e9riaux cr\u00e9\u00e9s par la nature et ceux faits par l\u2019homme, en particulier \u00e0 travers son travail sur la m\u00e9moire industrielle des r\u00e9sidus de cristalleries. De ce dialogue entre la nature et nos productions industrielles nait une po\u00e9sie de la transformation, de la mutation, comme un nouveau langage \u00e0 explorer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pour la Biennale Internationale de Saint-Paul de Vence, il r\u00e9alise un diptyque de deux \u0153uvres suspendues qui se r\u00e9pondent de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9 du village.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A l\u2019entr\u00e9e, dans le grand lavoir, <em>M\u00e9moires d\u2019ormes<\/em>, sculpture en c\u00e9ramique, calcin de cristal recycl\u00e9 et fibres optiques. Les c\u00e9ramiques d\u2019\u00e9corces, moul\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de troncs d\u2019ormes, diffusent la lumi\u00e8re d\u2019une m\u00e9moire, celle des ormes qui ont accompagn\u00e9 les hommes pendant des si\u00e8cles avant de dispara\u00eetre massivement \u00e0 cause de la graphiose. Leur pr\u00e9sence au milieu de mat\u00e9riaux plastiques ou recycl\u00e9s \u00e9voque un monde qui se transforme, une po\u00e9sie lumineuse qui trace une voie par-del\u00e0 les peurs du changement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans la chapelle Saint-Michel du cimeti\u00e8re, <em>Le r\u00eave des neiges \u00e9ternelles<\/em>, sculpture en s\u00e9l\u00e9nites et acier, compos\u00e9e de 500 s\u00e9l\u00e9nites suspendues formant un mandala de 3m par 3m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les s\u00e9l\u00e9nites, pierres translucides utilis\u00e9es en lithoth\u00e9rapie pour purifier et apaiser, portent dans leur m\u00e9moire le souvenir de leur formation, lorsque les mers se sont retir\u00e9es, laissant leurs sels se cristalliser. Fruits d\u2019un changement majeur qu\u2019a connu la Terre, elles nous murmurent que force et fragilit\u00e9 respirent parfois les m\u00eames silences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-ast-global-color-7-background-color has-ast-global-color-7-color is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Born in 1968. Lives and works in Eygali\u00e8res<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Trained at Essec, St\u00e9phane Guiran left the world of graphic design for sculpture in 2001. From 2002 to 2011, he mainly creates works from steel lines, in the continuity of his first years in graphic design. In 2004, he trained as a foundry worker during a year&#8217;s residency in Barcelona, which opened the door to monumental sculpture. During this period, his refined work on line evokes an imaginary writing that unfolds in space, often inspired by calligraphy and Japanese haiku.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>In 2011, he joined the Alice Pauli gallery and began to explore other media: first of all photography, around reflections in the Symmetries series. Then glass and crystal, which quickly take a predominant part in his work. Crystal leads him to more organic forms, largely inspired by his intimate link with nature. He explores crystal in different contemporary expressions, notably as a recycled material through his work on cullet.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Since 2016 he has been exploring space beyond the traditional boundaries of sculpture. His creations aim to involve the public so that they take part in the work by experiencing it through its poetic and immersive character. His installations mix materials, sound, image, light and writing in a free search for interiority and the place of man within nature.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>St\u00e9phane Guiran&#8217;s works, inspired by nature, ask us about our own nature within the living world. His sculptures, often made from crystals and minerals, play on the strength contained in fragility. They compare the materials created by nature and those made by man, in particular through his work on the industrial memory of crystal factory waste. From this dialogue between nature and our industrial productions comes a poetry of transformation, of mutation, like a new language to explore.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>For the International Biennial of Saint-Paul de Vence, he has created a diptych of two suspended works that respond to each other on either side of the village.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>At the entrance, in the large wash house, M\u00e9moires d&#8217;ormes, a sculpture in ceramic, recycled crystal cullet and optical fibres. The bark ceramics, moulded from elm trunks, diffuse the light of a memory, that of the elms that accompanied mankind for centuries before disappearing en masse due to graphiosis. Their presence in the midst of plastic or recycled materials evokes a world that is changing, a luminous poetry that traces a path beyond the fears of change.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>In the Saint-Michel chapel of the cemetery, Le r\u00eave des neiges \u00e9ternelles (The dream of eternal snows), a sculpture in selenites and steel, composed of 500 suspended selenites forming a mandala of 3m by 3m.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selenites, translucent stones used in lithotherapy to purify and soothe, carry in their memory the memory of their formation, when the seas withdrew, leaving their salts to crystallize.
