Il s&#8217;agissait d&#8217;une approche graphique d&#8217;un geste minimal et subtil consistant \u00e0 changer une face du cube, modifiant ainsi sa structure. C&#8217;\u00e9tait comme transformer l&#8217;id\u00e9e du temps et de l&#8217;espace en un mouvement. Bien que le cube ait repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le temps et l&#8217;espace, ce que j&#8217;ai voulu faire, c&#8217;est le transformer&nbsp;\u00bb Gonzalo Lebrija.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-ast-global-color-7-background-color has-ast-global-color-7-color is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Born in 1972. Lives and works in Guadalajara, Mexico.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Gonzalo Lebrija is co-founder and director of OPA &#8211; Oficina para Proyectos de Arte, an exhibition space in Guadalajara, one of the most important in Central America.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Gonzalo Lebrija&#8217;s work explores the notions of time, freedom, play and their relationship to power. These questions give rise to actions and gestures that give his practice a performative dimension, with the artist often appearing in his own field &#8211; photographic or filmic &#8211; staging himself in situations tinged with an existential humour that subverts the conventional representations of classic heroic figures.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>His work has been shown in solo exhibitions at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Havana (2016), Casa Encendida in Madrid (2015), Museo de Arte de Zapopan in Mexico (2015), Marfa Contemporary in Texas (2015), Centro de las Artes in Monterrey (2013), Multimedia Art Museum at the Moscow Biennial (2012), at the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City (2011) and in group exhibitions at the Jumex Foundation in Mexico City (2014) at the MAC in Lyon (2014), at the Istanbul Biennial (2013), at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris (2013), at the LACMA in Los Angeles (2013), at the Mus\u00e9e d&#8217;Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (2012), at the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City (2010) Mexico.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>In his sculptures, photographs, videos, and installations, Gonzalo Lebrija freezes time, seeking to capture fleeting moments and display them.&nbsp;&#8220;Cubo Torcido emerged from a drawing I made. It was a graphic approach of a minimal and subtle gesture of changing one side of the cube, modifying its structure. It was like transforming the idea of time and space into a movement. Although the cube has represented time and space, what I did was to transform it&#8221;.
