R\u00e9cemment laur\u00e9at du prix SARR 2021, il partira en 2022 en r\u00e9sidence artistique \u00e0 Chicago pour une exposition personnelle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans sa pratique, il est int\u00e9ress\u00e9 par la dimension technique et spirituelle de l\u2019Homme et sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 avoir cr\u00e9\u00e9 des mondes et des mati\u00e8res qui n\u2019existaient pas. Pierre-Alexandre Savriacouty envisage son travail comme un moyen de communiquer entre ces mondes et cherche comment ses pi\u00e8ces peuvent devenir des portails immat\u00e9riels entre les \u00eatres. Dans ce processus, il explore des questions li\u00e9es \u00e0 la disparition, \u00e0 la mati\u00e8re et sa spiritualit\u00e9, au vivant, \u00e0 la d\u00e9pouille, \u00e0 l\u2019industrie, ainsi qu\u2019au survivalisme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pour la Biennale Internationale de Saint-Paul de Vence 2021, il propose une \u0153uvre in situ : <em>O-3<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Au d\u00e9but du XVIe si\u00e8cle une porte sur la fa\u00e7ade de l\u2019\u00e9glise de Saint-Paul de Vence a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite. Au XVIIIe, cette m\u00eame ouverture fut referm\u00e9e. Pens\u00e9 comme un don au village, l\u2019artiste a reproduit la forme de cette porte condamn\u00e9e et propose sa r\u00e9ouverture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La porte symbolise le passage entre 2 lieux, et elle est \u00e9galement une invitation \u00e0 franchir, \u00e0 traverser vers un ailleurs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Poursuivant son geste d\u2019ouverture, l\u2019artiste nous invite vers un espace \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re \u00e0 la lisi\u00e8re de plusieurs mondes. Il ouvre le sol faisant remonter de la pierre volcanique, mati\u00e8re du centre de la Terre. Il invite les cieux \u00e0 se loger dans les miroirs et donne \u00e0 voir l\u2019horizon \u00e0 travers une vue kal\u00e9idoscopique, comme des visions multiples sur notre monde.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019\u0153uvre \u00e9tant install\u00e9e sur le centre \u00e9lectrique de la ville, l\u2019artiste a puis\u00e9 dans cette \u00e9nergie et fait ressortir des enchev\u00eatrements de cuivres en perp\u00e9tuelle transformation devenant presque des racines par l\u2019oxydation verte du cuivre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pour lui, le sol est une forme de portail, une autre porte, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 les corps disparus migrent ou se d\u00e9gradent et renaissent sous une autre forme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans son installation <em>O-3<\/em>, un endroit \u00e0 mi-chemin entre la ruine et la cr\u00e9ation, il convoque les mythes cr\u00e9ateurs malgaches et d\u2019autres formes de vie \u00e0 travers les puissances spirituelles, intrins\u00e8ques et curatives du Quartz rose. Semblable aux \u0153ufs d\u2019escargots-pomme dans l&#8217;installation, ce min\u00e9ral est aussi la pierre d\u2019\u00c9ros et de l\u2019immortalit\u00e9 chez les \u00c9gyptiens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c0 travers sa proposition, il pr\u00e9sente un espace temporaire de renaissance, de protection, de min\u00e9ralisation, jouant sur la fragilit\u00e9 des corps et sur des formes imm\u00e9moriales et spirituelles. Lives and works in Paris<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>French-Malagasy artist, Pierre-Alexandre Savriacouty graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Montpellier where he collaborated with the director Rodrigo Garcia, Pierre-Alexandre Savriacouty joined the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2018. Recently awarded the SARR 2021 prize, he will go to Chicago in 2022 for a solo exhibition.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>In his practice, he is interested in the technical and spiritual dimension of Man and his capacity to have created worlds and materials that did not exist. Pierre-Alexandre Savriacouty sees his work as a means of communicating between these worlds and looks for ways in which his pieces can become immaterial portals between beings. In this process, he explores issues related to disappearance, matter and its spirituality, the living, the dead, industry, and survivalism.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>For the Biennale Internationale de Saint-Paul de Vence 2021, he is proposing a site-specific work: O-3.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>At the beginning of the 16th century, a door on the fa\u00e7ade of the church of Saint-Paul de Vence was built. In the 18th century, this same opening was closed again. Thought as a gift to the village, the artist has reproduced the shape of this condemned door and proposes its reopening.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The door symbolizes the passage between two places, and it is also an invitation to cross, to cross to another place.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Continuing his gesture of opening, the artist invites us to an ephemeral space at the edge of several worlds. He opens the ground, bringing up volcanic stone, material from the centre of the Earth. He invites the heavens to lodge themselves in the mirrors and gives us a view of the horizon through a kaleidoscopic view, like multiple visions of our world.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>As the work is installed on the city&#8217;s power station, the artist has drawn on this energy and brought out tangles of copper in perpetual transformation, almost becoming roots through the green oxidation of the copper.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>For him, the ground is a form of portal, another doorway, where disappeared bodies migrate or decay and are reborn in another form.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>In his installation O-3, a place halfway between ruin and creation, he summons Malagasy creative myths and other life forms through the spiritual, intrinsic and healing powers of Rose Quartz. Similar to the apple snail eggs in the installation, this mineral is also the stone of Eros and immortality for the Egyptians.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Through his proposal, he presents a temporary space of rebirth, protection, mineralization, playing on the fragility of bodies and on immemorial and spiritual forms.
