Cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1988 par Jean-Gabriel\u00a0Mitterrand\u00a0et install\u00e9e dans un h\u00f4tel particulier du\u00a0Marais, la Galerie\u00a0Mitterrand\u00a0offre depuis 30 ans une place pr\u00e9pond\u00e9rante \u00e0 la sculpture et \u00e0 des artistes historiques ayant d\u00e9but\u00e9 leur activit\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de 1960.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

En collaborant avec les artistes, leur succession ou en r\u00e9unissant des ensembles d\u2019\u0153uvres rares provenant de collections particuli\u00e8res, l\u2019objectif de la programmation est de remettre en lumi\u00e8re la singularit\u00e9 et la pertinence d\u2019artistes ayant particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019histoire r\u00e9cente de la sculpture contemporaine. Depuis sa cr\u00e9ation, la Galerie\u00a0Mitterrand\u00a0a pu exposer et soutenir l\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019artistes incontournables tels que Niki de Saint Phalle, Allan McCollum, Keith Sonnier, Tony Oursler, Carlos Cruz-Diez \u2026<\/p>\n

Plus r\u00e9cemment, la Galerie Mitterrand a \u00e9largi son programme a des nouveaux artistes en s\u2019affranchissant des limites d\u2019\u00e2ge, des origines et des supports. Ce d\u00e9cloisonnement n\u00e9cessaire permet de refl\u00e9ter l\u2019incroyable complexit\u00e9 et diversit\u00e9 de la cr\u00e9ation artistique au XXI\u00e8me Si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n

La Galerie Mitterrand n\u2019a cess\u00e9 de promouvoir des \u0153uvres d\u2019art essentielles \u00e0 notre compr\u00e9hension de l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art r\u00e9cente. Avec l\u2019arriv\u00e9e d\u2019artistes tels que Mark di Suvero, Dennis Oppenheim ou encore Vaclav Pozarek, la Galerie Mitterrand ouvre un nouveau chapitre de sa programmation \u00e0 une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019artistes d\u2019horizons diff\u00e9rents qui explorent l\u2019histoire des formes et des techniques \u00e0 travers une analyse personnelle de nos soci\u00e9t\u00e9s contemporaines. Les artistes Marie Hazard, Kamrooz Aram, Wallen Mapondera et Pedro Reyes rejoignent ainsi le programme de la galerie en 2021 et 2022.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1988 by Jean-Gabriel Mitterrand and currently located in a privately-owned townhouse in Paris\u2019 Marais district, Galerie Mitterrand is dedicated to showcasing contemporary sculpture and historically significant artists who started their career from the 1960s onwards.<\/em><\/p>\n

By collaborating with artists or their estates, the gallery aims to highlight the singularity and pertinence of artists who have contributed to the recent history of contemporary art. Since its creation, Galerie Mitterrand has been exhibiting and supporting the work of international artists such as Niki de Saint Phalle, Allan McCollum, Keith Sonnier, Tony Oursler, Carlos Cruz-Diez among others.<\/em><\/p>\n

More recently, Galerie Mitterrand has expanded its artistic program to the world and to young artists by welcoming different new artistic mediums. This necessary opening up allowed us to reflect the incredible complexity and diversity of the 21st century artistic creation.<\/em><\/p>\n
