Fond\u00e9e en 2007, Semiose s’est impos\u00e9e d’embl\u00e9e dans le paysage artistique comme une galerie \u00e0 la programmation ancr\u00e9e dans les marges. Nourrie de cultures underground, elle d\u00e9fend des formes et des id\u00e9es n\u00e9es dans les franges politiques, sociales ou g\u00e9ographiques.<\/p>\n

La pratique citationnelle constitue un rep\u00e8re commun aux artistes et soul\u00e8ve des questions complexes li\u00e9es \u00e0 la\u00a0fabrication\u00a0des images et \u00e0 leur diffusion, le r\u00f4le et le sens des archives, la culture visuelle au sens large. Semiose promeut une esth\u00e9tique fond\u00e9e sur les questions du go\u00fbt et, par suite, des hi\u00e9rarchies culturelles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Semiose est \u00e9galement une maison d’\u00e9ditions. Disponibles internationalement, plus d\u2019une centaine de titres ont paru \u00e0 ce jour, parmi lesquels des monographies, des livres d\u2019artistes, des \u00e9crits et essais, un magazine et une collection d\u2019albums de coloriage d\u2019artistes.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2007, Semiose established itself in the artistic landscape as a gallery, whose aesthetic values are rooted on the margins of art. Nourished by underground culture, the gallery is committed to forms and ideas born in the political, social and geographical fringes.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The practice of citation is a common reference point for the roster of artists and raises complex issues related to the production and dissemination of images, the role and purpose of archives and visual culture in the broadest sense. Semiose champions an aesthetic based on questions of taste and consequently of cultural hierarchies.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Semiose is also a publishing house. Internationally available, more than a hundred titles have been published to date, including monographs, books by artists, written works and essays, an on-going magazine and a collection of coloring books.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
