Les vocalisations des oiseaux sont souvent utilis\u00e9es pour marquer leur territoire et attirer les partenaires, mais comme le son incongru de l\u2019oeuvre d\u2019art n\u2019interf\u00e8re pas avec les esp\u00e8ces indig\u00e8nes ou n\u2019est pas reconnu par elles, il devient un leurre et un message po\u00e9tique pour le public humain.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Cette oeuvre d\u2019art a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crite comme un \u00ab piratage de la nature \u00bb dans la mesure o\u00f9 le son est mix\u00e9 pour sonner aussi \u00ab r\u00e9el \u00bb et \u00ab r\u00e9aliste \u00bb que possible. Cette subversion du paysage sonore, qui consiste \u00e0 utiliser des sons g\u00e9ographiquement d\u00e9plac\u00e9s, fait allusion \u00e0 un monde naturel que nous ne comprenons pas enti\u00e8rement. D\u2019un point de vue conceptuel, la pi\u00e8ce \u00e9voque les th\u00e8mes de l\u2019ali\u00e9nation, de l\u2019exotisme et de la migration, tout en articulant les notions de territoire, d\u2019identit\u00e9, de diversit\u00e9 et de pouvoir. D\u2019un point de vue \u00e9sot\u00e9rique, il y a la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 l\u2019Augure : l\u2019ancienne pratique romaine consistant \u00e0 deviner l\u2019avenir gr\u00e2ce aux oiseaux, ce qui fait de l\u2019oeuvre un pr\u00e9sage d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements ind\u00e9finis \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n<p>James Webb est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par la <a href=\"https:\/\/bis-art.com\/index.php\/galerie-imane-fares\/\">Galerie Imane Far\u00e8s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-ast-global-color-0-background-color has-ast-global-color-0-color is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 22\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><em>Created in 2004, There\u2019s No Place Called Home is a recurring intervention wherein audio recordings of specific foreign birdcalls are deployed in local environments. Bird vocalizations are often used to mark territory and attract mates, but since the artwork\u2019s incongruous audio is not something that would interfere with, or be recognized by native species, it becomes a lure and a poetic message for human audiences.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This artwork has been described as a \u201chack into nature\u201d insomuch that the audio is mixed to sound as \u201creal\u201d and \u201clifelike\u201d as possible. This subversion of the aural landscape: using sounds that are geographically out of place, hints at a natural world that we do not fully understand. Conceptually, the piece evokes themes of alienation, exoticism, and migration, while also articulating notions of territory, identity and diversity, and power. Esoterically, there is the reference of the Augury: the ancient Roman practice of divining the future through birds, making the artwork an omen of undefined events to come.<span
