Mon implication dans la Biennale de Saint-Paul de Vence ne doit rien au hasard. N\u00e9e dans ce village, qui a connu tant de g\u00e9n\u00e9rations familiales avant moi, j\u2019ai toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 consciente et respectueuse de son exceptionnelle histoire artistique et culturelle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Saint-Paul de Vence a \u00e9t\u00e9 le lieu de vill\u00e9giature privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 des plus grands artistes, \u00e9crivains, cin\u00e9astes, po\u00e8tes du vingti\u00e8me si\u00e8cle et la C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur un terreau propice \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

D\u00e8s l\u2019ouverture de ma galerie, j\u2019ai souhait\u00e9 \u00e9largir mon programme \u00e0 la sc\u00e8ne internationale en m\u2019appuyant sur cette sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9 locale. Je suis convaincue que ma vocation consiste \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir de nouvelles expressions artistiques pour les proposer au regard et \u00e0 l\u2019intelligence du public, des collectionneurs et des institutions. Je reste \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute de jeunes cr\u00e9ateurs qui trouvent leur place aux cot\u00e9s d\u2019artistes majeurs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

De pr\u00e9cieuses rencontres avec des historiens et des conservateurs m\u2019ont amen\u00e9 \u00e0 collaborer avec des lieux institutionnels comme le Mus\u00e9e Fernand Leger, le Mus\u00e9e Picasso, le M.A.M.A.C ou des lieux culturels comme l\u2019H\u00f4tel de Caumont et le Ch\u00e2teau Sainte Roseline permettant, via le commissariat d\u2019expositions, de d\u00e9velopper de nouvelles exp\u00e9riences de mises en valeur des \u0153uvres.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Pour la Biennale 2021, nous avons souhait\u00e9 porter notre regard sur la sc\u00e8ne artistique \u00e9mergente en r\u00e9unissant des artistes de toutes nationalit\u00e9s. Ce choix, guid\u00e9 par la conjoncture \u00e9conomique et la crise sanitaire, a rencontr\u00e9 le soutien et la complicit\u00e9 des acteurs du monde de l\u2019art.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

C\u2019est avec un grand enthousiasme que nous proposons cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement f\u00e9d\u00e9rateur, qualitatif et dynamique. Nous souhaitons avec la seconde \u00e9dition de la Biennale de Saint-Paul de Vence poursuivre avec vous cette enrichissante aventure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

My involvement in the Biennial of Saint-Paul de Vence is no coincidence: I was born in this village, which has known so many family generations before me, and I have always been respectful and aware of its exceptional artistic and cultural history.<\/em><\/p>\n

Saint-Paul de Vence has been the privileged setting of the greatest artists, writers, filmmakers, and poets of the twentieth century, and the C\u00f4te d’Azur a breeding ground for artistic creation.<\/em><\/p>\n

As soon as I opened my gallery in 1975, I wanted to share my project to the international scene and presented the local specificity. In addition, I am convinced that the vocation of an art gallery is to discover new artistic expressions, and propose them to the public, collectors and institutions. I also remain attentive to young creators who find their place alongside major artists.<\/em><\/p>\n

My precious encounters with historians and curators have enabled me to collaborate with institutions such as the Chagall Museum, the Fernand L\u00e9ger Museum, the Picasso Museum, the M.A.M.A.C. or cultural venues such as the H\u00f4tel de Caumont and the Ch\u00e2teau Sainte Roseline, allowing me to extend, through the curating of exhibitions, this opening to the world, that is so important to me.<\/em><\/p>\n

Naturally, with the Town Hall of Saint-Paul de Vence, deeply involved in this long-term project from the outset, and the Association of the International Biennale of Saint-Paul de Vence, chaired by Olivier Kaeppelin, we wanted to create a program in which both established and emerging artists would interact together.<\/em><\/p>\n

For the 2021 Biennial, we chose to focus on the emerging art scene as a place of creation, which echoes the greatest years of Saint-Paul de Vence, that welcomed so many creators and diverse practices.<\/em><\/p>\n

In this Mediterranean region with such a singular topography and history, artworks question art and the present world in an attempt to find answers.<\/em><\/p>\n

It is therefore with great enthusiasm that we propose this federative and dynamic event. With the second edition of the Biennial of Saint-Paul de Vence, we hope to continue this enriching adventure with you.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
